CampusReform.org Trains Dallas Pro-Life Boot Camp
This summer CampusReform.org staff trained 63 pro-life high school students from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area at Youth for Life's Pro-Life Boot Camp. The event was sponsored by the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of Dallas, and, the Catholics Respect Life of Ft. Worth Diocese.
The topics covered by the training included:
- What Activism is
- Why Activism is Vital
- Why Youth Activism is Vital
- Why Organized Youth Groups are Vital
- How to Recruit Members (Methods & Message)
- Activism Ideas
The Boot Camp also featured other speakers including:
- Joe Pojman, Executive Director of Texas Alliance for Life, who spoke about the importance of civic/political action
- Carol Everett, a former owner and manager of abortion facilities, who gave an inside perspective of the abortion "business"
- Maria Graham, founder of Pathways to Parenthood, who taught campers how to effectivelysidewalk counsel people who arewalking into abortion facilities to choose life
- Betsy Korpor, a post-abortive mother who works at Rachel's Ministries, who told her personal story of pain, regret, and forgiveness after having an abortion
- Lauren Muzyka, Campaign Strategist at 40 Days for Life, who spoke about the organization's recent successes including a Planned Parenthood manager quitting, and a Planned Parenthood in Sherman closing
The boot campers also...
- Prayed in silent protest outside abortion facilities in the DFW area
- Collected, sorted, and made baby clothes, bags, bottles, and toys for mothers in need
- Served local pro-life organizations like White Rose crisis pregnancy centers, doing various odds-and-ends tasks
